Membership

In order to join the IBEW Local 5 Federal Credit Union, the member must be in the field of membership by a common bond:

• Regular members of Local No. 5, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, AFL-CIO, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who qualify for  membership in accordance with its constitution and bylaws as of the date of this charter; employees of the above Local No. 5
• Spouse of persons who died while within the filed of membership of this credit union
• Employees of this credit union
• Members of their immediate families
• Organizations of such persons

To open an account contact the Credit Union office and a membership packet will be sent to your home or office. Return the membership card with a check or money order in the amount of $25.00 made payable to IBEW Local 5 FCU and a copy of a valid Driver’s License.

Important information about procedures for opening a new account:
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies all persons (primary and joint owners) who open an account.
What this means for you, when you open an account, we will ask for your name(s), address, date of birth and other information that will allow us to Identify you and any owners of the account. We ask to see your driver’s license and may ask for other identifying documents.
